What is the Grange and Grange foundation?
Grange Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports programs and outreach in the more than 1,600 communities across the United States where local Granges are at work. Granges are fraternal, nonpartisan local chapters of the National Grange that seek to elevate rural interests and advocate for those involved in agriculture at all levels from producer to consumer.
What are Granges doing at this critical time?
Food pantriesSeveral Granges have expanded their food pantry programs to add additional everyday items that are hard to find at this time. They are also ensuring that their neighbors hardest hit by the quarantine orders will not go hungry. They have provided pick-up and delivery services, helping to feed their neighbors and flatten the curve. |
take out mealsMany Granges have altered community meals and potluck events to provide takeout meals. Grangers know some of their neighbors rely on these low- or no-cost events to ensure their food security and have stepped up to provide similar service in this critical time. |
sewing masksGrange members with sewing skills have stepped up to create and provide medical facilities with fabric masks that can be used over the N95 respirator masks used by healthcare professionals to lengthen the life of the critical equipment in short supply. |
